Neighborhood RR Thanks to Friends

Dear Bine has posted such great pictures of my Neighborhood RR in its finished state, that I really can't hope to compete with her with better pictures!!! LOL So, please see them below.

I just want to take a moment to thank my group friends for sharing their time and stitching hearts in stitching on my Neighborhood. Each of you were kind enough to take the charts of Workbasket and use them to create the world I was looking for. You went along with my sort of looney idea of a silly cemetery with tombies and understood the fun of it. And, you spent time choosing a proverb that expressed yourselves.

I deeply appreciate the work and heart of each of you, and I'll treasure my Neighborhood RR forever. Thank you: Marie, Bine, Carol, Wendy, Glenna, Nicole, Karen, & Leslie. Wanna do it again??? :)

Friends forever,
Deb

Marie's Halloween Neighborhood Is Home

This post is long overdue but my move left me little time for keeping up with my posting. I want to thank Bine, Carol, Deb, Glenna, Karen, Leslie, Nicole, and Wendy for helping me build such a wonderful Halloween neighborhood. You all selected great designs and stitched them so beautifully; you are the reason that my neighborhood looks amazing. I have not decided how I will stitch your names into the neighborhood but they will be added! I also want to include a Halloween verse at the very top, but I have yet to find the right one. I will be sure to post a picture of my neighborhood once it is completed. Many, many thanks to all of you for your hard work ~ you made this a wonderful and rewarding experience!
Extra thank you to Carol for organizing the Hello Neighbor group and adding me as a replacement stitcher. :D

Neighborhood RR Returns Home

A final update on my Hello Neighbor Round Robin. This little beauty started circulating in July of 2007. I asked each stitcher to incorporate something significant to where they live into their square. My square is in the middle and I thought the LHN Lakeside Lodge design reminded me of Minnesota (10,000 lakes). Over the past almost two years it traveled to Carol in New Hampshire, Michelle in Texas, Katrina in Colorado, Judith in the Netherlands, Kathy in Arizona (and Ontario!), Erin in New York State, and Annemarie in the Netherlands. We had one problem stitcher in our group so when my RR came home to me late last year, I had one empty square. Dear Vonna kindly offered to stitch it for me, and so the final square is from Vonna in Indiana!

I intend to stitch a simple border in between the squares and around the entire piece. When I get that done, I'll share one more photo with you! Isn't it gorgeous? I'm grateful to all my online stitching friends who stitched on this beauty!

My RR is home

My beautiful RR is now home. What a wonderful surprise to find in this mornings mail. I see Bine has posted a pic so you can all see how beautiful it is.

Thank you so very much to Carol, Marie, Deb, Leslie, Wendy, Nicole, Bine and Glenna for the beautiful workthey did! I love it so much!!

Carol, thank you so much for organising this RR.

One favour I have is that if the ladies in my group could have a look at the pic and let me know which one is the one you stitched as there was only a card from Bine in with the package. A couple of houses are signed but some aren't and I would love to know who stitched which house:)

Thanks ladies!!!

My RR arrived at home!!!!

Deb sent it to me together with her RR. I had hers when we were just about to move to Canada so I didn't manage to finish my stitching. So I am working on it every day a bit until it is finally finished. When she send me her RR I first didn't even realized that she sent mine as well. It was so well hidden between her charts that I found it after she send an email asking how I liked it..... LOL And it is just BEAUTIFUL. I am so happy that this is my RR and I don't have to send it to anybody....just mine :)))

Here it is: my "Neighborhood Row"

And a little bit closer: the left side:

and the right side:

Thank you so much to all the ladies who stitched on it:

Carol for stitching AND setting up the RR and doing all the work as RR-mother :)

I finished and mailed out Karen's RR some time last week. It was the last house to stitch. So her RR is finally finished and on it's way home:

I hope so much she likes how her RR turned out. This is the house I stitched for her. It is a house from the design "Fruit of the Spirit" by Plum Street Samplers. On this picture the colour of the fabric is more similar to the "real" fabric.

I am going to add a little section and then will make it into a pillow.Thank you so much everyone

Spookiness Comes Home to Texas

My RR is home! I just wanted to thank all of the lovely ladies in Group 3 for stitching on my Halloween Neighborhood. It's wonderful and spooky! I still need to stitch my block in the bottom right corner (the cemetery from Village of HRH), and stitch the road that winds through the neighborhood. I may even throw in a pumpkin or two and some other scary things. Thanks to all of you!!!

Winging its way to the Netherlands!!

I finished Judith's RR last night and popped it in the mail today after work!!!I stitched January - in the upper right corner- and April right below it. My birthday is in April, and I did January since....well....it IS January, after all!!! And I DID make one little change...instead of the "Easter eggs" that were charted on the April square, I stitched bunnies. The colors of the eggs - pink and green, I think? - got lost in the fabric. And I do like bunnies better!

I hope you like your neighborhood, Judith. Please let me know that it arrives safely, ok??

Leslie's NRR!

Leslie's Neighborhood RR finished and on it's way home! I stitched Little House Needlework's Cherry Tree Inn (modified it a bit). I love this pattern and it was a delight to stitch. I chose to do a bunny instead of the person because a person didn't fit in with the rest of the neighborhood.
And here is Leslie's RR to date.

Nicole's RR is Here :-)

I am so sorry! I cannot believe I forgot to post... must have been the hectic pace of the holidays!

Nicole, your RR arrived safely from Australia on 12/31/08.... judging by the post mark, the postal service held it in limbo for quite a few weeks!

Not to worry now, though - it is in NH and I will get it done ASAP for you! It looks fantastic!

Katrina's RR

Here is the photo my contribution to Katrina's RR and a photo of her RR to this point.

It is going in the mailbox today. Hopefully she will receive it in time for Christmas.

This completes my obligation to this RR. I am just waiting for mine to arrive home. Annemarie is stitching away on it and assures me it will be home the first of the year.

Well, ladies, I must say this has been an adventure. With missing RR's and new stitchers added it had its ups and downs.
It has been a real delight getting to know my fellow stitchers and watching all your progresses as you stitched.
I hope you will all post photos of your RR's when they are completed and framed. It would be nice to see the final project.

Dear Carol - thank you so much for your grace and kindness as you maneuvered your way through 40 odd stitchers and all their quirks. We all appreciate everything you did and the time you dedicated to make this work. I hope that we stay in touch as we continue this stitching journey.
Again, thank you one and all.

Little House(s) in the Big Woods

I got my RR back from Judith earlier this month, and now that I've finished my own square, I thought I should share it here.
I love it! Thank you so much Annemarie, Katrina, Kathy, Carol, Cathy B, Judith, and Michelle. (And if you are curious, that is the order - starting from the top left - in which they are stitched, my own is the center square.) I have an idea for the remaining square, and I've also put out an invitation to my blog readers to see if anyone else would like to do a square. I don't really have any more "woodsy" houses of my own!

Rowyn's Round Robin Sent to New Zealand

Just a note to let Feveryone know that Rowyn's RR was sent out last Wednesday and she should be getting it soon! :)

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Judith's RR...

...has made it safely to New York State! I'll try to get started (and finished) ASAP, since Judith's neighborhood is one mailing cycle off of the rest of the group. With any luck I'll send it on home by Christmas!

Deb's NRR mailed

FYI: Deb's NRR was mailed today.

Judith's RR - Group 3

I finished my block for Judith's Neighborhood. She asked us to stitch one of Maryse's monthly houses. Since my birthday month (August) was already stitched, I decided to stitch December. I'm starting to get in a Christmas mood, so this block was a lot of fun. And I love Judith's fabric, so beautiful!

I hope you like it, Judith!

And now, it's on its way to Erin for the last leg of its journey!

MARIE and DEB!!

Hi Deb and Marie,
I didn't finish my stitching on Deb's RR. I had your RR to stitch on exactly just before we were moving from Germany to Canada. And I really couldn't finish it...BUT I REALLY WANT TO FINISH MY STITCHING. Do you think it is OK if Marie sends it to me instead of directly to you?
Marie would you mind sending to Canada instead of to Florida?

Deb's Neighborhood

I have completed the stitching on Deb's neighborhood. Here is what I added:

Pictured below is the my addition to the Froggy End Cemetery... My Tombstone reads: 2059 Marie Aged Well ~ :)

Deb, I will be mailing this off to you on Monday so be on the lookout.

My NRR is Home

Many thanks to all my friends in Group Two for working so diligently and skillfully on my little bit of the English countryside! It's really beautiful. Now I must put the finishing touches on the borders and think of how to display it. :D

It was a wonderful experience to work with such great ladies and stitchers. Perhaps the future will bring more opportunities for us to work together.

Rowyn's Round Robin Finish

Here is Rowyn's completed Round Robin Finish and now it will be off to New Zealand! Everyone has done a beautiful job on this and I think her little village is just awesome! I am sorry that this photo isn't as straight as I would like,, but I put it on some poster board and it could have perhaps been a little more straight. Anyhow you can all see all the squares completed now! :) Now it is off to New Zealand!

Rowyn's Round Robin Finish

I just finished Rowyn's Round Robin today. I did Strawberry House from Little House Needleworks with a few changes of my own. This was so much fun for me to stitch for her! I still need to press it and then I will post the whole completed Round Robin. I hope she likes it as much as I enjoyed stitching it for her!

It's home!!!

Hi girls,

Just a short message to let you know that my neighbourhood has arrived back home!!! I'm thrilled to bits with all the hard, beautiful work you have put in and I can't wait to finish-finish it! Unfortunately, my camera died (or the batteries died. Anyway. Something has died that is vital to my camera's functioning), so I can't show you a picture, but Carol posted a picture of my entire hood a few posts down. I love how you did not stick to the standard neighbourhood thing and stitched people, beasties, flowers and trees. Thanks also for adding your thoughts to my little booklet. Your personal stories and notes all touched me.

Thank you for being such lovely neighbours. If only you could all come round for a cup of tea!

Sunday, November 16, 2008

Here is Debby's RR. I have finally finished my square. Thanks to everyone in Group 2. I think our neighborhoods came out great! I am making a few additions to mine to fill in some blank space. We had some trials but we managed to finish!! YEA!!

Group 3 - Erin's rr

I just finished the square on Erin's rr. I loved stitching every bitof it. I lost my stitching mojo for awhile, but it is totally back. I stitched part of northwoods sampler from Jeannette Douglas.

Hope you like it Erin.

Hey Erin!

Just a note to let you know that my neighborhood arrived home on Monday! Thank you so much.

Thanks everyone for stitching on my neighborhood -- I will be a constant reminder of your friendship and our mutual love of stitching!

Cathy B

Annemarie's RR....

An's RR is ready to go home :-)

Tonight I finished my area on An's round robin...

The Fox and the Grapes

The Prairie Schooler

Changed all colors except for the black

Border is from Two Houses by The Goode Huswife - changed all colors on this too

... And here is how it looks before it goes home. There is still a space left on it for An to mess around with... I hope you like it An, as I had great fun stitching on this for you.

I will mail this home to An on Wednesday, as there is no postal service in the US tomorrow due to Veteran's Day...

Von's Round Robin in done! :D

I see we have several finishes happening of the neighborhood round robins, that is so wonderful! I have finished Von's NRR today!! Her neighborhood is adorable with the cottages and gardens :) I hope you like it Von!

I stitched the chart from the July 2008 Cross Stitch and Needlework Magazine.
Heather

Group 3 Judith's and Michelle's Pieces

First is Judith's piece. I went ahead and stitched the March house since my birthday is in that month.

On Michelle's piece I stitched a Prairie Schooler design with some modifications to the colors. I didn't want it to be too close color wise to the other PS design on her piece. I loved the witch so I definitely wanted to use that design so I changed the pumpkin colors and the grass so that it would not blend too much with the other block. It's going in the mail to Annemarie tomorrow.
I am officially done with my stitching for this group. Now I just have to look forward to my piece coming home. Thanks so much for organizing everything Carol!

Heather's RR is finished!

Hope you like it Heather, I'll get it in the mail to you this week.

Dani's Fantasy Neighborhood is Homeward Bound

Whew! After endless waiting for the chart to arrive, then the stitching, my part Dani's NRR is complete and in the post.

Unfortunately, Dani's neighborhood isn't entirely finished, but if the postal service cooperates with us, she'll soon be able to make her own decisions for finishing. Thanks for giving me lots of time to work on your nrr, Dani, it was a lot of fun!

And now my part of the round robin journey is at an end! Along with Dani's package I sent Cindy's nrr on home to her, package unopened and nrr incomplete. It's such a shame that some of us in Gr. 2 have holes in our pieces, but at least everyone is getting their rr back - thanks to Rob. :)

I've enjoyed being a part of this group, but am relieved to have this project over and done. There are so many projects I brought back from the Spring '08 VS Retreat that I can now give some attention to! And I can't wait for my own rr's return - but take your time Heather!

Cathy's RR, ready to go home!

I finished this up tonight....I hope you like it, Cathy! Here is my square.....I used a Prairie Schooler pattern for the house and grape vines, an Eventide Design pattern for the stone wall and wildflowers, and the stone path is my own addition! I also added "State" to my location, just because I'm NOT from the City... LOL

And here is the entire piece. (I apologize for the color, it was late when I photographed it so there as no natural light. I did the best I could with my photo editting software....)

Marie's Halloween NRR on it's way to Leslie!

I finished (and mailed) Marie's Halloween NRR to Leslie last Friday. Here is the whole NRR to date:

And here is a close up of the house I stitched.

I stitched Halloween House Sampler by The Drawn Thread. What a fun piece to stitch in the month of October!

Group 3 Judith's Piece

I finished Judith's round robin and mailed it to Michelle on Thursday. I did take a picture but my DH has our camera with him so I can't post it. I also received Michelle's piece from Kathy. My plan is to stitch on it in the next week or two and send it back to Annemarie. After that I should be done stitching on everyone's piece and I will just have to wait for mine to come home :-).

Carol's Neighborhood - Group Three

Carol -

I put the finishing touches on my square for you this morning. Your Neighborhood RR will be making its way home to you in a few days!

P.S. - my square is top center, the blue house!

Group 3 - Michelle's Neighborhood RR

Here is the house I stitched on Michelle's neighborhood. I am sorry the photo is blurry. I took several but the camera had trouble capturing it for some reason.
And here is her RR to this point. It is just the cutest ever. I sent this off in the mail to Katrina on Thursday afternoon.

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Deb's Neighborhood

Just a quick post to say that I received Deb's NRR from Wendy today ~ it looks wonderful!

Sunday, October 5, 2008

My house for Carol is finished and the envelope will be mailed out to Karen tomorrow. Just one house left to be stitched and then the RR can go back home to Carol....
I hope you like it so far, Carol.

Robyn's Seaside Neighborhood - Group 2

This is the block I stitched for Robyn's seaside neighborhood. I tried to get a picture of the entire piece - but my photo skills leave a lot to be desired. Suffice it to say that her piece is just charming! Only one more block to go!
Happy stitching! Margaret

Group 3 - Michelle's RR

Michelle's beautiful Halloween neighborhood arrived in my mailbox late Friday. I think the mailman had wings. I have the pattern selected and the threads pulled. I hope to make the next mail out date.
